Pilates Method

Created by Joseph Pilates in the early twentieth century as a technique to achieve optimal wellness. Pilates is a challenging yet rewarding exercise regimen that blends Eastern and Western philosophies of mental and physical conditioning. Results are achieved by applying these principles: breathing, balance, concentration, control, precision, and flow. The Studio Upstate features Pilates mat classes as well as equipment classes using the Reformer.

Aerial Arts

Aerial Arts are an exciting way to mix up your routine. The Studio Upstate has many options to satisfy your cirque curiosities including aerial yoga, hammock, silks, lyra, and pole dancing. All students must begin with level 1 training to learn how to safely execute the fundamentals before progressing to more advanced tricks. Try an aerial class to flip your perspective and get fit while having fun!

Yoga

Yoga has been in practice for thousands of years in both Eastern, and more recently Western culture. With focused breathing exercises (pranayama) and deliberate body movements (asanas), you will create a deeper mind-body connection. Enjoy a yoga practice to find balance and gain strength, flexibility, and focus.
