The Pilates Method
The Pilates method was created by Joseph Pilates in the early twentieth century as a technique to achieve optimal wellness. Pilates is a challenging yet rewarding exercise regimen that blends Eastern and Western philosophies of mental and physical conditioning to create balance and harmony for the entire system. Results are achieved by applying these principles: breathing, centering, concentration, control, precision, and flow. Aerial arts are an exciting way to mix up your routine. The Studio Upstate has many options to satisfy your cirque curiosities including aerial yoga, hammock, silks, lyra, and pole dancing. All students must begin with level 1 training to learn how to safely execute the fundamentals before progressing to more advanced tricks. Try an aerial class to flip your perspective upside down and get fit while having fun!
